Education & Experience
During my undergraduate career, my focus in psychology changed swiftly when I suffered back-to-back ACL tears. This experience with injury and identity exploration shifted my focus from sport performance psychology to a more broad interest in clinical psychology.
I have worked in a variety of settings with a diverse population of clients. I worked with the founder of The Optimum Performance Program in Sport and assisted in the development and research of interventions for student-athlete populations, provided services for UNLV athletic teams and Cirque du Soleil, and provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Internship at Texas A&M University, where I worked with undergraduate and graduate students, couples, and athletes and expanded my focused training in consultation, identity development, and social justice. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at Sandstone Psychological Practice in Henderson, NV.
I received my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
More About Me
My love for psychology grew out of my experiences as an athlete. My passion for sport stemmed from my desire to understand the complex psychological processes involved in competition, motivation, and elite performance in all areas of life.I operate from a psychodynamic and relational framework, focused on understanding how past experiences and relationships impact current functioning. With personal and professional experience working with high school, club, intercollegiate, and professional athletes, it is my passion to help individuals and teams reach their peak potential. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, reading, crochet, and cooking. :)
